SM Sanz is an illustrator and muralist based in Dallas, Texas. She grew up in Panama City, Panama and started her career as an artist in the local mural arts scene. The main theme of her work is that of female empowerment, expressed through portraits of strong, provocative women, as well as themes of environmental protection, immigration and social justice.
With over ten years of experience as a visual artist, Sanz has completed 30 murals across the southwestern U.S., Mexico, Columbia, Panama and Australia, and works with painting and print techniques, ceramics and installation. She has collaborated with organizations such as the International Development Bank. NPR, FEMA and UNDP. Most recently, she developed an art installation for Meow Wolf in Grapevine, Texas.
